Member Coordinated Pathway

In this pathway you manage and coordinate your own training. You can complete the electives you want, in the time frame you choose, and at locations and dates that suit you.

When a course is open, it is up to you to book yourself into the training. Your Club Chief Instructor can assist you.

Who

Any current financial Surf Live Saving Member.

Cost

The cost of this pathway is $159 PLUS the cost of each award and qualification gained.

ELECTIVE OPTIONS

This following graphic shows two common elective options, the Pool Lifeguard option, and the Inflatable Rescue Boat (IRB). If you wish to complete a different elective pattern, please contact Member Education.

Process

1.      You identify the courses you want to do and book yourself in.

2.      Attend your training courses and pass all assessments.

3.      When complete, submit your training to SLSSA by filling out this form HERE

4.      SLSSA check you’ve completed all requirements.

5.      We issue you with your official certificate and update your profile in Surfguard.

Requirements

Please note:

·       You must hold a Bronze Medallion (BM) gained at a surf club. BMs gained at a non-surf organisation do not meet the requirements and cannot be accepted.

  • If you gained your Bronze Medallion interstate, please check if the PUA20119 Certificate II in Public Safety (Aquatic Rescue) was issued alongside the Bronze Award. If not, you may be required to do some Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL). Please contact the Member Ed team to discuss.
