Member Education

Surf Life Saving SA (SLSSA) recognises that members, outside of the VET in Schools programme, may wish to obtain the PUA30322 Certificate III in Public Safety (Aquatic Search & Rescue) in recognition of the training they have completed within Surf Life Saving.

This option means that members manage and coordinate their learning and training pathway to gain the required units of competency (aligned to various SLS awards) in order to gain credit towards the Certificate III, as noted HERE.

Submission Process

  • Once you believe you have gained the required units for the Cert III, please submit this online form with the required details, including:

    • Units you are using to gain the qualification

    • Certificate numbers, date gained and the organisation you gained the unit with

    • If you gained a unit or award with another organisation besides SLSSA, please provide a copy when submitting your form

  • Your submission will then be reviewed by Member Education staff.

  • Once approved, you will be sent a link for payment. Payment can be made via the online link or over the phone.

  • Once payment has been received, you will be sent your certificate

  • For those using the qualification for SACE, you will then need to provide this to your Vet Coordinator at your school

Packaging Requirements

11 units of competency are required for this qualification (PUA30322 Certificate III in Public Safety (Aquatic Search and Rescue)).

To obtain credit, members must hold all of the five core units of competency and six elective units of competency. Refer to the information noted HERE.
