Major National Partners

Westpac has been proudly partnering with Surf Life Saving Australia (SLSA) for more than four decades since the inception of the Westpac Lifesaver Rescue Helicopter Service (WLRHS) in 1973. It is one of the longest corporate community partnerships in Australia.

The WLRHS is a vital extension of SLSA’s front line services operating in Southern NSW, QLD, VIC, WA, SA and a rescue boat in the NT. The national operation also incorporates the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Northern NSW and Tasmanian Services.

Over 300 rescue professionals and volunteers make up the national operation, which has 15 helicopters and one rescue boat across 13 bases. During summer, the Service covers over 84% of the Australian population and to date, the WLRHS has performed more than 100,000 missions across Australia, with no one ever having to pay to be rescued.

As a Major National Partner of Surf Life Saving Australia, DHL has been helping Surf Lifesavers deliver safer beaches since 2003. DHL is the global market leader in the logistics and transportation industry and shares many core values with Surf Life Saving Australia including speed, passion and a can-do attitude.

The Office for Recreation and Sport (ORS) plays an important role in ensuring all South Australians have the opportunity to participate by supporting sport and recreation organisations to be sustainable, ensuring that high quality facilities and playing grounds are available, and making certain that our elite athletes are given every chance to succeed and inspire.

Being active is an intrinsic part of our culture and contributes greatly to our reputation as healthy, happy people. Not only do we undertake sport and active recreation for enjoyment, research has shown that regular participation has benefits for individuals, their communities and the state, in terms of social, health and economic outcomes.

Every year, thousands of emergency services workers and volunteers attend incidents throughout the State - putting out fires, rescuing people, conducting searches, freeing people from trapped cars, helping contain chemical spills, dealing with storm damage and much more.

It is our job to ensure that volunteers and employees within the fire and emergency services sector are provided with the resources and support they need to carry out this vital work.

The South Australian fire and emergency service organisations SAFECOM works with are the Country Fire Service, Metropolitan Fire Service, and the State Emergency Service.

The Surf Life Saving SA State Office, Surf Central, situated within the West Beach Parks precinct, is supported by West Beach Parks through the provision of a rent rebate. The rent rebate enables SLSSA to direct more funds to front line lifesaving services and other educational programs, to keep our beaches and the community safe.
