Mental Health First Aid Course

Looking to build the skills and confidence to support someone experiencing a mental health challenge?

This Provide First Aid course is suitable for individuals, parents/caregivers, corporate/business, voluenteer and community groups, and anyone needing this qualification*.

With workplaces now required to manage psychological risks under WHS laws, this course can also help meet those obligations.

About the course:

This course aims to develop the knowledge and skills for a person to recognise and respond to someone experiencing a mental health problem or mental health crisis, until professional help is received or the crisis resolves.

Course participants learn about the signs and symptoms of common mental health problems in adults, how to recognise and respond to an emerging or worsening mental health problem and the treatments and supports available.

Individuals who complete Mental Health First Aid training are known as MHFAiders.  They are equipped with the skills to listen, connect, and offer support when it matters most.  MHFAiders play a vital role in reducing stigma and promoting pathways to support for those experiencing mental health problems in our workplaces, communities, schools, and tertiary institutions.

Course content includes:

  • Two day practical workshop

  • Approved training

  • Comprehensive Mental Health First Aid manual
