A new era of surf sports competition in South Australia is here
The Infront Southern Surf Series is the evolution of the SA Surf League, bringing a fresh individual racing format to South Australia’s coastline. Across three rounds at Goolwa and Moana, athletes will go head-to-head in fast-paced Swim, Board and Ski races, with more opportunities for competitors from U14 through to Open and Masters to get involved.
Multiple short-course races mean more chances to compete, more action in the water and points up for grabs every round. The competition builds towards a double-points final round, where the overall series winners will be crowned.
Whether you’re chasing a place in an Open final, building experience in the junior ranks or taking on the Masters field, every race counts.

HOW THE SERIES WORKS
Choose your age category
Competitors race in one eligible age category across Distance Runs, Beach Sprints and Beach Flags.
Race
Take part in the competition format for your chosen disciplines, including round-robin racing and finals where applicable.
Build your series points
Final event placings earn Beach Stormers Series Points, which accumulate across the three South Australian rounds.
Compete across the season and build your cumulative Beach Stormers Series Points.
How each discipline works
The competition format varies between Distance Runs, Beach Sprints and Beach Flags.
Distance Runs
- Round 1 features a single Distance Run for each age category.
- Rounds 2 and 3 use a round-robin format, with three rounds for U13, Youth and Masters and four rounds for U17 and Open.
- There is no minimum number of Distance Run rounds a competitor is required to complete in Rounds 2 and 3.
Beach Sprints
- Beach Sprints use three round-robin rounds followed by a Final.
- Competitors race once in each round and accumulate Round Robin Points based on their finishing position.
- The highest accumulated scores qualify for a Final of eight.
- If there are only enough competitors for one heat, no Final is held and accumulated Round Robin Points determine overall placings.
Beach Flags
- Beach Flags are conducted through heats and eliminations.
- Where heats are required, the event continues until a Final of eight or nine competitors is reached.
Round Robin Points
Round Robin Points are used within the round-robin competition format to determine progression and overall placings.

Beach Stormers Series Points
Final event placings are converted into Beach Stormers Series Points using the 5,000 Point Score Table. Points are awarded down to 50th place.

AWARDS & PRIZE MONEY
Open prize money is awarded separately to the Male and Female Combined Sprint & Flags Champions, with winners determined by cumulative Sprint & Flags points across all three South Australian rounds.
