Surf Life Saving SA presented the annual Awards of Excellence, Life Membership and Hall of Fame Inductions at the 2018 Red and Yellow Ball at the Adelaide Convention Centre on Saturday 18 August.

Congratulations to all of our Awards Winners and Inductees and a big thank you to all of the Clubs, Members, Staff and Sponsors who joined us for a great night celebrating an excellent year in Surf Life Saving.

Last night over 100 Member gathered at Surf Central in West Beach to celebrate the 2018 Surf Life Saving SA Volunteer Recognition Night. The evening paid tribute to people across surf life saving who have made significant contributions to our success as a movement over the past 12 months. The ceremony honoured the achievements of our educators, athletes, lifesavers and emergency operations teams.

Surf Life Saving Club newbie Deborah Wareing (61 years) of South Australia’s West Beach SLSC has managed to break not one, but two International Life Saving World Records at the 2018 National Pool Rescue Championships currently being held in Adelaide this weekend.

Deborah completed her Bronze Medallion and joined West Beach Surf Life Saving Club in 2017 and is now the proud world record holder of both the 100m Obstacle Swim and the 100m Manikin Tow with Fins events.
