Last night over 100 Member gathered at Surf Central in West Beach to celebrate the 2018 Surf Life Saving SA Volunteer Recognition Night. The evening paid tribute to people across surf life saving who have made significant contributions to our success as a movement over the past 12 months. The ceremony honoured the achievements of our educators, athletes, lifesavers and emergency operations teams.

Surf Life Saving Club newbie Deborah Wareing (61 years) of South Australia’s West Beach SLSC has managed to break not one, but two International Life Saving World Records at the 2018 National Pool Rescue Championships currently being held in Adelaide this weekend.
Deborah completed her Bronze Medallion and joined West Beach Surf Life Saving Club in 2017 and is now the proud world record holder of both the 100m Obstacle Swim and the 100m Manikin Tow with Fins events.
AUSTRALIAN RECORDS FLY OUT THE DOOR AT THE POOL RESCUE CHAMPIONSHIPS
Australian records have fallen thick and fast on day one of the 2018 National and Interstate Pool Rescue Championships held at the South Australia Aquatic and Leisure Centre.
South Australian locals have taken a quarter of the records in the world-class swimming centre which is described as a fast pool, competitors managed to knock over 20 Australian records in the first day of competition.
