Surfcom Orientation and Open Night
Surf Life Saving SA invites members of all abilities to attend a Surfcom Orientation and Open Night to learn more about this critical component of the Emergency Operations Group that facilitates and coordinates a number of functions on behalf of SLSSA frontline members and services.
Severe Weather Warning
The Bureau of Meteorology has forecast significant weather across widespread parts of the state for Wednesday and Thursday.
In addition to the potential for heavy rains, the forecast includes high winds about coastal areas and Gulf Waters, and wave heights that may reach in the vicinity of 8 metres or more. Coastal inundation is possible.
It is timely to have mariners check moorings to ensure security, ensure that they are aware of the situation and carefully consider any boating activity.
Clubs please check your readiness for this storm, do you require any additional sandbagging? Do you have an IRB that can be made operational if required? Is your 4WD or ATV available.
Surf Sports Series - Round 1 Preview
This weekend, South Australia’s best surf sports athletes will usher in a new era for surf sports competition in SA when they begin the battle for supremacy in a brand new 4 part Surf Sports Series of events held over the coming 8 weeks.
The Surf Sports Series is supported by the Lifesaving World Championships 2018 “Ride the Wave” community engagement program and is designed to sharpen the skills of South Australian surf sports athletes competing on the national and world stage.
