It is with great pleasure that we welcome Madeline Nurmi to the Surf Life Saving SA Board. Madeline was successfully appointed at our State Council meeting on Tuesday 18th of June 2019.

Madeline is a Life Member of the Christies Beach SLSC, and has been an active member of the club since 2000. She has held various roles within the club, including as an age manager, Junior Chairperson, child safety officer and is currently the Club President and Registrar. From a highly committed surf lifesaving family, Madeline's 4 adult children and husband are all Bronze medallion holders and support the club actively through patrol, training and the executive committee. Her passion for Surf Lifesaving, the Christies Beach SLSC and the broader community has seen her help drive an increase in active participation within the club and its members over the last three years.

Madeline is currently a leader Analyst in the Professional Services Branch at the Department of Human Services. She comes from a background as Public Servant in both State and Federal domains, and has over 25 years of experience in executive roles in ICT, customer service and project management. During her time, she led and managed hardware and software rollouts to 36,000 staff, managed high profile multimillion-dollar projects and successfully demonstrated the ability to lead virtual teams that are high performing, collegiate and understand their contribution to the strategic direction of the department. This experience, combined with her leadership qualifications, including a Graduate Certificate in Public Sector Management will be a great asset to the SLSSA board and community.
