For almost 100 years, surf lifesavers have been keeping South Australian beaches safe. Thousands of South Australians have created lifelong memories at the beach under the watchful eye of our volunteer surf lifesavers.
Memories of the hot sand underfoot as you run toward the clear, blue water. The cool relief as the waves break against your legs. That moment of silence when you dive under the first wave. Games of beach cricket that lasted all afternoon and New Year’s Eve fireworks.
By leaving a gift in your Will, your legacy will be to the mums, dads, sons, daughters, brothers, sisters and mates of the future. You can help to make sure they have the same opportunity that you did to create special memories at the beach.
What is a bequest?
A bequest is a gift that you include in your Will to be gifted to a charity after you’re gone. It’s simple to do, and any gift, big or small, will make a difference.
Your Will should reflect your wishes, what you want to be remembered for, and what’s important to you. If Surf Lifesaving has been an important part of your life, a bequest can ensure your legacy lives on through our future activities.
As a not for profit, any gift in a Will shall go directly to fund the improvement of facilities and programs for the benefit of our Clubs, members and South Australian beach lovers.
How to give
You can choose to leave any of the following in your Will:
A set amount of money
A percentage of your estate
Property or assets
A residual of your estate after all beneficiaries are taken care of
Talk to your solicitor or estate planner about creating or updating your Will to make sure you leave the legacy that you want to leave after you’re gone.

If you choose to leave a gift to Surf Life Saving South Australia in your Will, please let us know. We would like to personally thank and acknowledge you in your lifetime on behalf of our volunteer Surf Lifesavers and clubs.
However, it is up to you. Surf Life Saving South Australia will respect your privacy at all times. All bequests are received and handled in the strictest confidence.
