Surf Babies and Little Lifesavers is a water confidence and aquatic safety program specifically designed for young beach lovers and their families. Adults will gain confidence taking young children to the beach by learning how to identify hazards, how to respond to a beach-based emergency and how to supervise children appropriately in the open water.

The 4 key areas of learning are:

Education: Sun safety and water education
Water: Fundamental water skills
Beach: Coordination and movement skills
First Aid: CPR and basic first aid knowledge

The surf babies program in nature is more freedom orientated, whilst the Little Lifesavers program is structured and allows for the instructor to direct both parent and child.

Age groups:

  • Surf Babies (1 - 2 years) 8:00 AM - 8:45 AM*

  • Little Lifesavers 1 (2 years) 9:00 AM - 9:45 AM*

  • Little Lifesavers 2 (3 years) 10:00 AM - 10:45 AM*

  • Little Lifesavers 3 (4 - 5 years) 11:00 AM - 11.45 AM*

*Session times may vary slightly from site to site.

Program Delivery:

  • 6 week program*

  • 45 minute sessions

  • Sessions conducted one after the other (Surf Babies, followed by Little Lifesavers Juniors and Seniors)

Cost: $50 per participant (includes both adult & child). Please note this is program is automatically subsidised by the South Australian Government reducing the $100 cost to a $50 payable amount.

*Port Rickaby and Lucky Bay will be 6 day programs, running alongside the Vacswim Program
