Join us for our new Boardies Day fundraiser on Friday Feb 12th!

Saving lives costs money, and we need your help to keep South Australians safe on our beaches.

To help support Surf Life Saving SA and raise vital funds for the organisation, we’re encouraging you to wear your boardies in the classroom or the boardroom on Friday, February 12th!

With our beach loving culture and unique Aussie way of life, there’s no better way to celebrate summer than by donning your boardies for #BoardiesDaySA to help saves lives on SA beaches. Boardies Day is a great way to support the amazing efforts of our volunteer surf lifesavers as they keep you and your family safe on our beaches throughout summer.

Whether it’s boardies in the classroom or boardies in the board room, every dollar raised through Boardies Day will help save lives on South Aussie beaches. You can host a fundraising event at your school or workplace, or even raise funds as an individual! It’s up to you. We have a great range of tools and party resources to help you put on a fun and successful event. Simply follow the steps below to register your event with us, and start fundraising!

How to get involved

School-01.jpg

Your school

Ask your teacher to let you have a fun day with water safety activities while wearing your brightest boardies. If you and your school mates all bring a gold coin you'll make a huge difference. And next time you're on the beach, make sure to let the surf lifesavers know you support them

Work-01.jpg

Your workplace

Thinking about the beach instead of work? Wear your boardies in the office, hold a bbq, or wear red and yellow for the day. If everyone contributes a small donation your workplace will be supporting the vital equipment and training of the volunteers that keep you safe on our South Aussie beaches.

Just You!

Just do you! Pick an activity, and ask your friends to support your challenge. Swim every morning, undertake a fitness challenge, or be creative with the red and yellow theme. The choice is yours. Whatever challenge you choose - you'll be helping our volunteer surf lifesavers save lives

Why fundraise?

We need your funds to help support Surf Life Saving in South Australia. Each year, our Lifesavers save on average more than 220 lives. Our specialised lifesaving equipment is a significant expense in the effort to keep our beaches safe, but it is also not the only cost. Our volunteer lifesavers also require comprehensive ongoing training to stay proficient, and our state based rescue assets such as the Westpac Lifesaver Rescue Helicopter and our Jet Boats and Jet Skis, cannot operate without ongoing financial support.

Below is just an example of some of the expenses our beach patrols incur to setup a patrol.
