Surf Life Saving SA Surf Central

Located at 2 Barcoo Rd West Beach, Surf Central is the State headquarters for Surf Life Saving SA. Built in 2012, the venue offers a fresh, modern and inviting multi purpose space which is fast becoming one of Adelaide's favourite corporate and community function spaces. 

Surf Central is ideal for training sessions, group activities and conferences. 

Our Function Spaces

Surf Life Saving SA has a number of training/meeting rooms.

The main rooms have the ability to be modified to: 1 large room, 2 rooms or 3 separate rooms.

Our training rooms all have separate access to the decking area which overlooks the Adelaide Shores golf course.

Additionally we have a separate small meeting room near the main entrance. (Orange room)

All rooms have either a data projector or large LCD screens for presentation purposes.

Catering

We have a fully functional commercial kitchen available for use by your own professional caterers for on-site preparation in the main building. The kitchen facilities include: dishwasher, microwaves, combi oven, oven/stove top, fryers, walk-in cool room/freezer. (Some conditions apply)

You may also self-cater cold foods only and use our kitchen, fridges, crockery and cutlery etc.

Alcohol

Surf Central is not a licensed venue. If you wish to serve alcohol at your function you may do so only with the proper liquor license for event in place. Your professional caterer can arrange this for you alternatively you will be able to apply for an independent, limited liquor license from Consumer and Business Affairs, http://www.cbs.sa.gov.au/assets/files/Limited_licence_application.pdf.

The hirer remains accountable for the responsible service of alcohol at this venue. 

Smoking

Surf Central is a completely smoke free premise including the car park and surrounding areas.

Parking

Surf Central can accommodate up to 45 cars in our free car park, there is also a public beach-side car park at the end of Barcoo Rd for overflow purposes.

Cost

Room hire at Surf Central:

Monday to Friday - $400.00 plus GST                                                            
Saturday to Sunday - $500.00 plus GST

Bond

A refundable Bond of $250.00 is required and will be refunded after your function if there are no damages or repairs required.

Cleaning

Surf Central is a leave it as you found it venue, you are welcome to use the facility as the hirer but please leave it in the same condition you found it. Any excess or speciality cleaning required after your event will be charged to the hirer; this will automatically be deducted from the Bond. For hiring the Venue more than 2 days consecutively, maximum 5 days; a cleaning fee of $100.00 plus GST will apply.

Operating Hours

Surf Central has standard operating hours from 9am-5pm Monday to Friday. Should you require early, late or weekend access this will need to be negotiated and additional charges may apply. 

Function Space Booking Terms and Conditions

Confirmation and Payment

Your booking reservation is held tentatively for 7 days at the discretion of the venue. Your booking will be confirmed on the payment of the 25% deposit of total charges. Final payment including the Bond needs to be paid in full 7 days prior to the function. Tentative bookings not confirmed with a deposit will automatically be made available to other clients.

 Preferred payment is by Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT), VISA or MasterCard.

Cancellation

All cancellations will forfeit the deposit.

Display and decorations

SLSSA must approve the display of any decorations, commercial signage or promotional material and it is agreed that such material shall not damage the facility in any way. If such a situation should arise then the client shall be financially responsible for any repairs at a cost to be determined by SLSSA. The usage of smoke machines and/or confetti is not permitted on SLSSA premises.

Responsibility/damage/loss and insurance

The Venue shall not be liable for any injury, damage or loss of any nature suffered by the client or the client’s guests, agents or other persons or goods associated with the function prior to, during or after the function, except to the extent applicable by law. The client is responsible for any claims arising from any damages or loss associated with their function and we recommend that where necessary they should arrange their own insurance. If damages occur to the venue’s equipment or property by any guests, attendees or personnel associated with the client before, during or after a function, the client is financially responsible to make good such loss or damage. The venue, at their discretion, may require and/or request the presence of security guard/s (at the client’s expense) and to site the Client’s Public Liability Insurance agreement.
