The Pool Lifeguard course is nationally accredited training that provides students with the knowledge and skills to be employed as a Pool Lifeguard in a public swimming pool, holiday resort or recreation centre that has swimming facilities. The skill set can be used as a partial completion of Certificate III in Aquatics and Community Recreation (SIS31015) and Certificate III in Public Safety (Aquatic Search and Rescue (PUA31312) and is equivalent to Pool Lifeguard Skill Set (SISSS00III) . To gain employment lifeguards must be 16 years of age and the Pool Lifeguard qualification must be current. Pool Lifeguards are required to update their qualification every 12 months by completing a Pool Lifeguard update course.
