The 2017 Surf Sisters program was launched at the weekend with 40 women from Clubland and the wider community gathering at Surf Central.
A panel of guest speakers included; Surf Sisters Patron and Minister for Sport and Recreation Ms. Katrine Hildyard MP (Christies Beach SLSC), Ms. Rae Lawson President of Henley SLSC, Melinda Speechley Age Manager and Patrol Captain at Brighton SLSC, Kate Powell and Kate Perry IRB Drivers at Moana and Port Noarlunga SLSC's, Anjie Collin SA's first competing female Sweep and David Harry Surf Life Saving Historian from Brighton SLSC.
The aim of the launch was to promote this season's program which will include monthly events as well optional Bronze Medallion training in an all-female environment.
Surf Life Saving SA are currently seeking volunteers from all Surf Life Saving Clubs to act as Surf Sisters Mentors and Ambassadors at a club level, if you are interested in getting involved in promoting female participation and development at your Club please contact Lee Dalzell.
