CELEBRATING OUTSTANDING CONTRIBUTIONS
Surf Life Saving South Australia Hall of Fame
The Hall of Fame permanently displays, commemorates and recognises members and teams who have achieved outstanding accomplishments and exceptional contributions to the development of surf lifesaving in South Australia.
Each award is allocated under the following categories:
- Surf Lifesaving
- Surf Lifesaving - administration
- Surf Lifesaving - sport
Nominations must clearly demonstrate that individuals or teams have:
- Displayed exceptional service to surf lifesaving in the specific category
- Achieved outstanding individual or team accomplishments which sets the individual or team apart from other surf lifesavers or teams
- Displayed sustained excellence over a long period of time to the category for which they are nominated.
The inaugural induction into the Surf Life Saving SA Hall of Fame will take place at the 2016 Red and Yellow Ball.

Surf Life Saving Australia Hall of Fame

South Australian Inductees
Robert (Bob) Mayo, AM - Sport - inducted 2007/8
Bob has dedicated over 20 years of service to coaching march past teams. As a coach of South Port SLSC over the period 1995 to 2007, the teams he has coached have won 11 Gold Medals and five Bronze Medals. Bob has also dedicated signifi cant time in developing and improving the standard of march past competition around Australia. He has achieved this through his long term role as the chairman of the national march past panel (1995–2006) and through his coaching of other march past coaches around Australia (particularly in South Australia). In addition to his coaching successes, Bob has played a signifi cant role in administration and revenue consolidation in South Australia. (Surf Life Saving Australia Annual Report 2007/8, p 103)
South Port Open March Past Team - Sport - inducted 2014/15
The South Port Open March Past team has entered the Hall of Fame after achieving a significant record in winning 11 Australian Open March Past Championships. (Surf Life Saving Australia Annual Report 20014/15, p 90)
