For three years now, Thomas Hession of Grange Surf Life Saving Club has volunteered for the State Emergency Operations Group as the Rescue Water Craft Coordinator. Thomas works with the Power Craft Officer to manage a team of 40 Rescue Water Craft Operators to deliver roving Patrols and water cover for special events throughout the season. Over the past 12 months, the RWC service has grown by 20 people and Thomas has a further 14 new recruits to train this summer.Read More
Applications are now open for appropriately qualified persons to be considered for the position of Professional Lifeguard with the Australian Lifeguard Service (ALS) SA.
This is a great opportunity to lifeguard the Metro and Regional beaches of South Australia. Services may be provided to the Holdfast Bay (Glenelg) and Alexandrina (Goolwa) areas, additional work will be available to support schools and events throughout the season.

Key focus areas for the upcoming season will include reducing complexity and compliance in order to reduce barriers in Surf Sports and Lifesaving.
SLSSA has been working closely with our sister states and Surf Life Saving Australia on introducing several changes to increase participation and remove barriers.

The 2017 Surf Sisters program was launched at the weekend with 40 women from Clubland and the wider community gathering at Surf Central.
The aim of the launch was to promote this season's program which will include monthly events as well optional Bronze Medallion training in an all-female environment.

The role will be responsible for, but not limited to:
- Managing course enquiries, bookings, enrolments & payments
- Coordinating course material for facilitators
- Resulting/Processing /Reporting using VETRAK and SurfGuard
- Invoicing /Receipting
- Printing SOA’s/Certificates, Medallions etc.
The successful candidate will be passionate about Surf Life Saving and ideally have RTO administration experience.
